Bio:

Juinn-Dar Huang received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electronics engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1992 and 1998, respectively. He is currently a Distinguished Professor at the Institute of Electronics, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan. He is also serving as the VP Research at Neuchips Corp., a Taiwan-based AI startup company.

He once served as the Deputy General Manager at the Program Office of AI Research, Taiwan during 2017~2018. He received the Outstanding Teaching Award of the University in 2014 and 2018. He won the second place in IEEE Low-Power Computer Vision (LPCV) Challenge 2020 and the third place in 2021. 

His current research interests include hardware accelerator design for machine learning and edge computing, deep learning algorithm development and refinement, design automation for biochips, and electronic design automation.
